Yes, the article was old. But I do feel that there was a negative bias against Vista due to the poor driver support at launch (which is not Microsoft's fault for most part). I now have Vista SP2 running smoothly for days on end without any BSODs. Windows 7 is great no doubt, but I'm a bit reluctant to spend a lot of quid for great eye-candy! :)

Very interesting to see that Vista is doing better now days. But I think the article is in late July and Windows 7 was launched in October, so it should have created huge impact on Vista's sales recently.

For me, personally, Vista was not up to the mark. I am using windows 7 currently and my opinion is good ( Very good ) about it. It is fast and more enjoyable. Things are looking better managed here.

I am including link of sales statistics which clearly shows that Windows 7 has beaten all other competitions to Microsoft in very short time span. But it will take time for windows 7 to replace Xp.

Great! Thank you!
I always wanted to write in my site something like that. Can I take part of your post to my site?
Of course, I will add backlink?

Sincerely, Timur Alhimenkov

Don't forget that Microsoft are going to release a public beta of Windows 7 today! (09/06/09)

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/default.aspx

The download is capped at 2.5 million, so don't miss out.

I don't think Java usage is already decline. They are pushing more and more good stuff out. In terms of performance a normal .net code should not perform any better then a normal Java code ( By normal I mean code which is not optimized yet ).

Yet I would like to see any link which compares performance of both platforms.

And though Mono (http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page) is doing really very very well, if I need a cross platform solution I will surely go with Java.

One very interesting point is the best available tool for .net platform costs a lot in comparison to Java platform tools.

( Java is good but I love .net , Long live dot net )

It just saved me a day...

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/beta/readiness/developers-new.aspx#updateIE7

On a per-site basis
The site owner can add the HTTP header:

X-UA-Compatible:IE=EmulateIE7On a per-page basis
The site owner can add a special HTML tag to each document, right after the tag:

The META tag retains Internet Explorer 7 rendering behavior while still accessing all Internet Explorer 8 has to offer. This allows your site visitors who are using Internet Explorer 8 a seamless experience while you work behind the scenes to update your web properties. When your site is updated to render in Internet Explorer 8, you can remove the tag or continue to leverage the tag functionality, as it will remain as part of Internet Explorer 8 upon final release.

Just a great read... Thanks a lot.

Hi. It seems odd that the most popular programming lang is Java. In-fact, Java usage is already on the decline as Java cannot deliver good performance.
